I always wanted to teach, but life choices and career opportunities provided me a different path. Ohio Hi-Point gave me the opportunity to make a career change and return to my original goal: teaching. Teaching Supply Chain Management really let me take my past career experiences into the classroom and morph business and education together. This past summer I was recognized as Ohio's outstanding new CTE educator and it speaks volumes about OHP's support system, internally and externally. There is no end to the success we can bring students when we merge education with real-world experiences and training.

Once I heard Ohio Hi-Point had a printing and graphics program I knew that was where I wanted to go.

Graphic design has always been a passion of mine and I’ve learned so much in my lab. My favorite experience so far was working with a real artist on the mural for the city of Bellefontaine. The whole process from concept to design to final project was incredible. We worked with a professional artist for two weeks to complete the project and every time I drive past the mural on Main Street I think, “I made that!”

I’ve also got the best of both worlds at Hi-Point. I participate in track at Ben Logan and I’m preparing for my future at Hi-Point. I’ll be ahead of the game in college because other incoming students will be learning what I already learned a year or two ago, which will help me save on college tuition.

I came to Hi-Point because of the college credits and my interest in electronics. I took dual enrollment classes at Bellefontaine High School so it just seemed like a great fit to continue taking college credit classes while preparing for a future career.

The college atmosphere at Ohio Hi-Point is awesome. It's inviting, hands-on and you're able to learn at your own pace. Plus, you're able to be a part of so many other organizations. I'm the president of the Lead Ambassadors and my Electronics lab, and I am the SkillsUSA Southwest Region Vice President. 

After graduation I plan to complete a Computer Science Degree. I'd love to design computers for Apple Inc. I would encourage all high school students to start thinking ahead, and Ohio Hi-Point should be something to consider. Hi-Point was the best educational, and professional, option for me.
