Blue Print Reading for Construction or Manufacturing
Blue Print Reading for Construction or Manufacturing is a semester course designed to develop entry-level to intermediate skills in blueprint reading, in the student’s specific area. (Semester class 1/2 credit)
CAD I and II
CAD covers the essential core topics for working with AutoCAD software. Students will learn the basic tools for creating and editing a simple drawing. Some essential tools and concepts include understanding the AutoCAD workspace and user interface, using basic drawing, editing and viewing tools, organizing drawing objects on layers, inserting reusable symbols (blocks), preparing a layout to be plotted, and adding text, hatching, and dimensions. (Semester classes 1/2 credit each)
Mechanical Design (pre-requisite CAD)
Mechanical Design covers two basic approaches to design: traditional and concurrent engineering. Students will use AutoCAD to design projects that are functional and aesthetic as well as Inventor to create 3D renderings of models. The class will be project-based drawing upon the creativity of the students. (Semester class 1/2 credit)
