Pharmacy Technician
This 300 hour program prepares individuals to enter the pharmacy field by providing training that will enable them to qualify for entry-level positions in pharmacies as well as prepare for the CphT certification exam. Our program combines home-based computer training with in-class instruction and the opportunity to practice in our skills lab. The PassAssured Pharmacy Technician program is web-based and requires a computer with CD/ROM drive and internet connection. The student must also meet on campus as designated by the instructor.
Pharmacy technicians work under the supervision of the pharmacist and have duties that include filling prescriptions, counting pills, measuring medications and labeling products. Pharmacy technicians also verify prescriptions and maintain patient records and insurance information and are employed in retail pharmacies, hospitals and extended care facilities.
