Adult Basic Literacy Education (ABLE)
Adults with limited education face serious obstacles. They may have difficulty in getting and holding a job, providing a secure, stable family environment for their children, or living productively and effectively in our complex society.
From the basics of beginning reading and simple addition, through the requirements for an Ohio High School Equivalence Diploma (GED), the Adult Basic Literacy Education (ABLE) Program provides learning programs designed and paced for each student's needs.
Individual, small group, and online instruction are designed to help participants meet their educational goals. Students receive instruction and materials to improve their reading, writing and math skills to prepare for entrance exams, job training courses, helping children with homework, preparing for the offical GED test, or improving job skills for advancement.
Services are offered to the public. Day and evening classes are available at 5 sites across OHP's district. In addition, an online course is available for 24/7 needs.
